Hello! My name is Philip Adrian. I’m a creative writer with a background in video game art and design. I’m currently looking for a background/environment artist for a comic book project I am working on called Spectral Echo. It’s a modern/futuristic action comic about an elemental mage who fights ever changing monsters, government corruption, and corporate greed. The comic is inspired by video games like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and RPGs involving different character classes.
The art style uses pixel art with paint-like cell-shading. Examples of the art style and a locale of one of the story areas is shown below. As the background artist your current task will be to create concept art with this style of a shot of the city, and 4 to 5 sample pages of the comic. You will be working with a character artist on the sample pages, and will be paid upfront for the concept art and then comic pages. We can negotiate how much you would like to be paid for these commissions.
This art will be used to promote the comic for crowdfunding. We would like to use Patreon to fund the comic’s 24 issues. So of course, I am looking for someone who is willing to work with us on an ongoing project with me, the writer, character artist, an editor, and occasional consultants if need be. Payment for all of us will come from the patrons that support the comic.
